Is saving a document in.docx the same in either Microsoft program? I’ve seen comments where people say WordPad cannot properly open a.docx file made in Word. And that WordPad cannot save a file in.docx. This relatively new article from Feb 2022 and says WordPad cannot save in.docx, and that.rtf is the default. I have a document that I make copies of for different clients. The original document has a single table that has some hidden borders to make it look like several tables. It is the same for Start menu. Right click on Word tile it will give. When a Word doc is in full-screen view the Status Bar at the bottom of the screen appears. When I reduce the size of the doc on screen, the Status Bar disappears. This has only started happening within the past day. Prior to this, I have been able to display multiple docs on screen simultaneously and retain access to the Status Bar. The problem with WordPad [and Write from Win3.xx/earlier] is it is a very basic word processor and has few things one can change and retain. Creating the blank document as suggested is the best way but not for computers used by 2 or more people since it is a customizable file.
